While I like to post things from the web that are interesting, I very rarely pimp anything that I've personally bought and used. So I'm going to break with tradition and tell ya'll about a couple of things I bought at Libellezomerweek.

Last year, they had a Lush booth, and while I balked at the prices, I kicked myself for the rest of the year for passing up a chance to wallow in their Honey, I Washed the Kids soap. It smelled like something you'd want to take a bite out of; honey and caramel.

I'd been fantasizing about buying this soap since last spring, so I was disappointed when I discovered that this year, there was no Lush booth.

But I found Sabon instead. And once I'd sniffed a few samples, cheerfully forked out a ridiculous amount of money for some of this:

Butter Cream. OHMIGOD. This stuff is amazing! I got both the Ginger/Orange scent, which reminds me of Creamsicles; and the Lavender/Apple, which just sort of smells clean and Spring-like. My skin is silky smooth, there's no greasy feel, and I swear my wrinkles are retreating. :c)

Then, I went and bought hand and foot cream at the Rituals booth, and again, while it was fairly costly, it was worth the price. The hand cream is nice, but since my hands aren't all that dry, I didn't really notice any outstanding results. My lizard-like feet, however, have now become like kitten's paws, only minus the fur. It smells like basil and mint, and really make a huge difference. So I'm going to recommend that anyone with croc skin on their feet give this a try.

what do *you* think of Wolfram Alpha?

The Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara, CA last week caused these two to take shelter together.

The fawn is 3 days old and the bobcat about 3 weeks. The fawn came from somewhere in the fire and the bobcat from Carpentaria. They immediately bonded and snuggled together under a desk in the Santa Barbara County Dispatch Office for several hours.

Some of these have incredible detail.

Here's one I know a few of you will really enjoy. XD

MYST for the iPhone!

Cyan's groundbreaking first-person graphic adventure Myst hit the Apple Store today. The $5.99 game weighs in at a whopping 727 MB and includes all the Ages, music, videos and animations from the original. Each scene was painstakingly re-rendered, as well (the 1993 version was compressed to 256 colors). Check out the preview video...

Okay, apparently I was just a little *too* cryptic with my last post. All is well, it's just frustration over the situation with my oldest son and needing a venting mechanism.

Had a lovely Queen's Day; at least until we made it home from the flea market and saw on the news that several people had been killed by a crazed motorist in Appeldoorn. His apparent target was the royal family, who were just a few yards away from the final crash point of the car.

That's our Crown Prince and Princess on the left in that photo. You can see how shocked they were.

It sort of ended the day on a sour note. :c(

ETA: Have just read that a fifth person has died from their injuries.

It kinda works like this:

The only people you need in your life, are the people who need you in theirs.

I spent several hours doing something I almost never do: reading this absolutely amazing online comic. It's a Doctor Who story that is well-told, well-drawn, and captures the voices of all 10 doctors wonderfully. The story arc is almost complete (after two years!), and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens at the end.

Here's the starting link: http://comics.shipsinker.com/2007/03/11/doctor-who-comic-the-ten-doctors-page-1/

If you're a Who fan, you'll love this. ;c)

Thanks to everyone for the advice yesterday on my Russian "friend." I reported it to the LJ Spam Bot Police, and journal has now been suspended. :c)
