Happy Birthday, Lukas!
Feb. 27th, 2007 04:25 pmYesterday my youngest son turned 7. Hard to believe how fast time flies; but then I say that every year! He's gotten so big lately - he's definitely a no longer such a "little" boy anymore. His face is not as round, and he's growing out of his at a scary rate. Although if he takes after Fred, he won't really shoot up until he hits about 15. Then I might as well invest in a meat locker to keep him fed.
We had a hard time decided what to get him this year. He doesn't do Hot Wheels, or sports. He likes action figures and video games. We were thinking about buying a Wii (not for him, for the family), but of course the damn things have been sold out for ages. So instead, we bought a chip that enables our Xbox to store and play literally hundreds of games, which we've been downloading like crazy (Legally! Legally!) :c) You can also burn your game discs on there, so you don't have to pop in a DVD every time you want to play the game - and they don't go bad because they never get scratched up. It's also non-regional, so our old US Xbox games can be played once more.
Needless to say, he's pretty much been glued to the tv all day. The weather being what it is (complete shite), I let him. Tomorrow he and two of his friends will be partying at Balorig, so no video games allowed. I haven't had a chance to play at all - one of the games we got was Lego Starwars, and I'm itching to get my fingers on that!
Sunday we'll do The Birthday Circle of Death with the family, and then it'll be over until July, when Marissa turns 6.
I'm hoping I'll survive tomorrow with the kids; like a lot of people right now, I'm suffering from a nasty cold, and while it's not debilitating, it's annoying as hell. Blergh. Time for a hot bath before making dinner. :c)
