Am currently watching Netherlands vs. Japan. My gods, but our Olympic football team sucks. They *just* managed to tie with the US in their last game (with 3 seconds to go in overtime, no less), and IMHO, any team that comes that close to losing (or loses altogether) to the US in soccer has to be a garbage team - everyone knows the US can't play soccer to save their lives. :c/

I was talking about the men's team, not realizing that there actually was woman's soccer being played at the Olympics. Let alone that they were kicking butt. :c(

So, to clarify, it's the US men's team that I think is awful (not that I'm all that impressed with the Dutch men's team, but at least they played better today than against the US).

You mean the men, right? Because US women's soccer can more than certainly hold its own against the rest of the world.

Oops, yes, the men. Which explains kamion's remark, which I didn't quite get. I forgot that there even WAS such a thing as woman's soccer.

When the Olympics were in Atlanta, I was able to get ticket to the gold medal match for women's soccer. Totally awesome!

It's kind of funny, but having played soccer since I was 7, I really enjoy watching women's soccer much more than men's. Hard to explain why. Fewer drama queens, perhaps?
