So, since I was stuck on the couch for the remainder of the day yesterday, I watched a couple of really good family films. I normally avoid them like the plague, because if there's one thing I hate, it's almost always a film labeled "heartwarming," which really means twee and predictable, a la Little House on the Prairie.

But I liked The Water Horse and An Angel for May quite a lot. Both of them struck a nice balance between the fantastical and the believable. And An Angel for May has Anna Massey in it, which is always a bonus fo rme. ;c)

Hubby and I also watched about 10 minutes of Meet the Spartans(a spoof of 300) which was so ham-handed and charmless that we abandoned it to watch Juno, which is every bit as delightful and smart and amusing as all the awards say it is. Good call.

My ankle is doing better today. Thanks to all those who commented yesterday. :c) I'm going to continue to take it easy for a couple more days and see, but I think it's going to be just fine. The dog is going back to basics with training, to see if it will "stick" this time. He's a sweet dog, just stubborn. Stupid fuzzbutt mudbeast.

I'm down another .3 kg (go figure), and I'm going to do a little yoga and stretching stuff this morning, but no jumping about obviously. I was really annoyed at not being able to do my step aerobics yesterday. Does that make me an addict? ;c)

Alright, I've had my coffee, and it's time for breakfast and chores. Have a great day, flist!

I'm sorry, I obviously wasn't paying close enough attention yesterday because I missed that you had twisted your ankle. I'm glad to hear it feels a bit better today.

Thanks for the movie reviews, I was wondering about The Water Horse, although I'll likely never get around to watching it unless it comes on TV sometime.

I love your LJ layout.

You do yoga? I have started back to yoga recently after my neck injury recovered and I still really love it. Although I'm definitely *not* good at it, I at least am improving. I always feel like it's such a fantastic workout.

I do the Wii Fit workout, which has a section of yoga exercises to do. I'm pretty good with the balance aspect of it, but my flexibility is...not so good. And I actually feel like I'm getting more of a workout doing yoga than I ever did in a gym, even though I'm also doing aerobics and some more traditional muscle workouts just to keep from being bored. :c)

My new layout is courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] stellastars, and my only complaint with it is that I wish I could change the color of the "board" frame. :c)

I missed the bit about your ankle, too. :(

It was buried under all my doggie drama, so it's not too surprising that you didn't catch it. :c)

Glad to hear you liked THE WATER HORSE. I was leery about it for the same reasons you were. Now I think I'll try to see it if it's in the library.

It's well worth it. The scenery alone is pretty drool-worthy. :c)

OMG! That is so funny! (movies not ankle)
My daughter and I just watched the same movies all on the same day as well!
The Water horse was great, An angel for May was all right, and my kid and her friend now both run around quoting lines from Juno. lol

I laughed my butt off at Juno - I loved how the stepmom wasn't some cliched Wicked Stepmother kinda thing. And now I also have to get a hold on the soundtrack, because hubby's been walking around singing "Anyone Else But You" all day. :c)
